Smokejumpers and airtankers were dispatched to a wildfire Thursday in the Bob Marshall Wilderness that prompted trail closures and blanketed Augusta with smoke.

"We're in full suppression mode on this one," said Dave Cunningham, a spokesman with the Lewis and Clark National Forest in Great Falls.

As of 8:30 Thursday night., the estimate for the size of the Elbow Pass fire remained at 200 acres, but its exact size wasn't known, Cunningham said.

The fire is 24 air miles west, southwest of Augusta, and three to four air miles southwest of Wood Lake.
